1,200 kids kicked off the 10th annual P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon with KiDS ROCK Arizona on January 19th at Tempe Beach P
ark. Former Olympian Rod Dixon joined parents, teachers, and health advocates to cheer on kids as they completed the last mile of their 8-week marathon training program.

Last October, over 1,500 future marathoners participated in ING KiDS ROCK Los Angeles, a one-mile, non-timed and non-competitive fun run to get kids excited about fitness while teaching them the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
These elementary age kids in grades K – 7 were joined by AC Green (Los Angeles Lakers Legend); Ruthie Bolton (WNBA Hall of Famer); Antonia Lofaso (Celebrity Chef and expert Mom); Jim Ryun (Former World Record Holder); Rod Dixon (Olympic Medalist); and Bonnie Bernstein (ING KiDS ROCK Ambassador).

Kids can participate in a marathon- one mile at a time! KiDS ROCK and ING Run For Something Better (IRFSB) have partnered to fight childhood obesity by making fitness opportunities available in schools and empowering kids to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
As participants in the ING KiDS ROCK program, children can become marathon finishers by accumulating 25.2 miles over four, six or eight weeks with guidance from parents or teachers. Kids will celebrate the completion of a marathon by running the final mile at the ING KiDS ROCK.
